The Tama County CDC is located in downtown Tama, making the center a unique part of the community. Consumers take advantage of downtown businesses, the Tama Civic Center, public library and nearby lake.
A small business, Butterfly Creations, gives consumers opportunities to explore hobbies such as woodworking, sewing and other creative interests. Consumers and staff create unique items for sale including gazing balls made from old bowling balls. Old chairs & bowls are sanded, painted and designed for individual customer orders.
The Stretch Conference, held annually, invites adults from all over central Iowa for a day of education and socializing.
