Additional ways to earn college credit: AP and CLEP

Both methods require a student to pay a test fee and college credit is based upon a qualifying score.

AP (Advanced Placement)
These accelerated courses are part of the high school curriculum. The high school administers an Advanced Placement test at the end of the course. Depending on the score, a student may or may not earn college credit.

CLEP (College-Level Examination Program)
The Iowa Valley Community College District administers the CLEP exam. Students who receive a qualifying score on any of the 34 exams earn college credit. A student who is very proficient within an academic area, for example, Spanish, should consider the CLEP.
