IVCCD Board of Directors hears good financial report 11/14/2008 The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors got good news when it met Nov. 12 in Iowa Falls. IVCCD Chief Financial Officer Dan Gillen gave a four-year comparison of the District’s Operating Fund and reported that the 2007-08 fiscal year ended with revenue in excess of expenditures by $233,967 from regular operations. Orpheum Theatre Renovation Project bids approved 9/8/2008 The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors approved Garling Construction of Belle Plaine, as the contractor for the Orpheum Theatre Renovation Project on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Bettie Bolar Named Outstanding Administrator at IACCT Annual Conference 8/14/2008 Iowa Valley Continuing Education Vice Chancellor Bettie Bolar was the recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Administrator Award at the annual Iowa Association of Community College Trustees held in Sioux City. IVCCD Board hears proposal for new international student project 7/15/2008 Drawing from their extensive international experiences in Mexico and Korea, and utilizing the Brazilian background of an associate at Marshalltown Community College, Dr. Laura Browne and Dr. John Kalkwarf presented a proposal for an International Student Cohort Project to the Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors on July 9. The project would recruit international students from three countries to be immersed in an intensive English summer orientation program prior to beginning college courses in the fall of 2010. Articulation Website now available 7/2/2008 In response to 2007 legislation, Iowa's Regent universities and public community colleges created an Articulation Website, called TransferInIowa.org, that addresses the number one question transfer students ask, "How will my credits transfer?"
