IVCCD accreditation is reaffirmed
Chancellor Dr. Chris Duree reports that Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) has received a very positive feedback report and reaffirmed accreditation status from the Higher Learning Commission as a result of a recent quality check-up visit to Iowa Valley.
The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which accredits community colleges, raised no questions or concerns in the feedback report provided to IVCCD.
Dr. Duree said the HLC examiners were complimentary of Iowa Valley and its quality improvement and strategic planning initiatives. He said they were also impressed with the District’s renewed commitment to quality improvement as demonstrated over the past four years. A copy of the HLC feedback report is posted on Iowa Valley’s website.
“There’s been a significant and very positive cultural shift at Iowa Valley over the past four years, and the HLC examiners recognized and complimented our organization on making that necessary shift,” explains Dr. Duree. “Our Iowa Valley Board of Directors, administrative leadership team, faculty and staff have made significant strides in terms of our commitment to continuous quality improvement. We’ve completely revamped our strategic planning process as well. We will continue to identify and evaluate all of our work systems and processes to make improvements in our operations and for our customers. I see the organization coming together and focusing on data-driven decision-making in ways that make me confident we will continue to make progress on our quality journey for years to come. Our employees deserve all the credit for this reaffirmed accreditation, and our current and future students will reap the benefits of all the hard work that’s gone into our organizational transformation.”
IVCCD operates Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Marshalltown Community College, Iowa Valley Grinnell (a satellite campus of MCC), and Iowa Valley Continuing Education.
