Iowa Valley approves early retirements
The Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD) Board of Directors approved three additional applications for early retirement when it met this week in Iowa Falls, bringing the total number of early retirements to four. The newest applications were approved for three Marshalltown Community College staff members: Connie Adair, English Faculty; Janice Hubbard, Math Faculty; and Cindy Urhammer-Weuve, Receptionist.
In other matters, the Board: approved the lists of 2014 graduation applicants for both Ellsworth Community College and Marshalltown Community College; approved a nine-month lease agreement with 3110 Properties to store MCC equipment and furniture during the upcoming campus remodeling projects; approved a memo of understanding with Ellsworth Municipal Hospital/Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls for shared bandwidth between ECC and the new hospital; approved payment of FY15 dues to the American Association of Community College Trustees; and approved revisions to several of its policies.
It was noted by IVCCD Chancellor Chris Duree that Kris Wyatt, Human Resources Generalist, has received her MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Two gifts were accepted by the IVCCD Board, including an anonymous donation of $1,000 for the Adult Literacy program in Tama County and a gift of $200 from Roger and Cindy Kendall for MCC’s Youth for Understanding Cultural Enrichment Activity Fund.
A closed session was held to discuss collective bargaining, but no action was taken upon returning to open session.
The next regular meeting of the IVCCD Board of Directors will be Wednesday, May 14, at 4 p.m. in Marshalltown.
