ECC Admissions

Admissions Policies:

It is the policy of Ellsworth Community College to accept for admission all individuals with either a high school diploma or its equivalent. Students who wish to transfer from other colleges and universities are also eligible for admission. High school students may enroll, providing permission is obtained from the student's high school and ECC.

For students without a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED diploma) who apply for admission to degree or certificate programs, ECC uses references, personal interviews, available school records, and/or counselor evaluations to admit and to predict potential success or ability to benefit from the training offered.

Admission to ECC, however, does not ensure admission to any specific program of instruction. Each college attempts to guide the placement of students on the basis of student interests, counseling, examination, pre-enrollment interviews, and past academic achievement or work experience.

Admission to full-time programs is granted on an ongoing basis as applicants complete required admissions procedures. Applicants will, therefore, find it to their advantage to apply as soon as they have decided to seek admission to a particular program.

Prospective students may apply any time after April 1 of their junior year of high school.
