Wellness Center Usage

Any current ECC student or community member who enrolls in physical fitness/wellness class can use the Wellness Center. However, students must attend a lecture and assessment before starting their program. At that time individuals will have an exercise program tailored to his or her specific needs. After the assessment, students will set their own workout schedule. A 30-minute workout is recommended three to four times a week.

"The Circuit" Ideal Fitness Program

The Wellness Center features "The Circuit," equipment which includes 12 weight machines and 12 stationary bicycles. The Circuit workout, with or without an additional cardio program, makes a total body workout that all can enjoy, regardless of age, gender or current fitness level.

“The Circuit” is the right program for people of all ages and abilities. It will introduce the first time exerciser to sound weight training and aerobic principles and provide a solid foundation for your new fitness lifestyle. For the fitness enthusiast, the "Circuit" back-to-basics approach can help rid you of stale habits, refresh your technique and improve your attitude. Even the seasoned athlete, who understands the value of cross-training in achieving long-term health and fitness goals, will be challenged by this circuit and appreciate all the benefits it has to offer.

No matter what shape you’re in when you begin, those who follow the guidelines of the program will see the results.

The circuit is a complete cross-training system that is exciting, time-efficient, easy to follow and effective. It provides total body conditioning aerobic and strength training into one structured workout. By working out on “The Circuit” you can improve your cardio-respiratory fitness and build muscle strength and endurance. You can also lower your resting pulse rate, reduce blood pressure, become more flexible and substantially reduce body fat.

The length of time it takes to complete a full circuit is around 21 minutes. As your condition improves, you can gradually increase the intensity of your workout by selecting higher weights and/or selecting a different program. For best results, you’ll want to work out on “The Circuit” at least three times a week.
