Program Summary
Students majoring in Biotechnology take the same transferable, general education courses as other transfer students. They also take specialized science courses and participate in a cooperative field experience. Biotechnology draws heavily on areas such as biology, molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, chemistry, biochemistry, agriculture, animal science, medicine, veterinary medicine and the environmental sciences. Biotechnology also includes genetic engineering, gene therapy, monoclonal antibody, reproductive biology, cell and tissue culture and bioremediation.
