Criminal Justice
Program Summary
The Criminal Justice program has two areas of emphasis: law enforcement and corrections. The field of Criminal Justice is one of the fastest growing and diverse industries in the country. Graduates of the program work as corrections officers, security guards, police officers, patrol officers, probation/patrol officers, sheriff’s deputies, state troopers and for such agencies as the U.S. Marshals Service, Drug Enforcement Agency, Internal Revenue Service, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
Persons who have received college training in police science or military police experience will have the best job opportunities. The opportunity for public service through law enforcement work is attractive to many because the job is challenging and involves much personal responsibility.
