ECC Softball 2007-08
The Panthers enter the 2007-08 campaign with a great deal of enthusiasm and anticipation. An influx of speed and athleticism should solidify the defense and add a level of excitement and aggressiveness on the base paths. A solid core of returning veterans will be counted on to lead the team in the always strong Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
Returning Players All region honorees Sheri Bachel and Tabitha Porter will anchor the corners of the infield and the heart of the batting order. Amanda Schnier will be a mainstay of the pitching staff, while Taylor Morrison will be one of the fixtures at catcher. Jill Kumrow and Ali McNickle return considerable experience to the Panther outfield.
Incoming Players All state pitcher Kaitlin Hall leads a class of solid newcomers to the Panther program and will see considerable action on the mound. Erika Meyers, Mattie Coleman, Jerrah Livengood, and Sybil O’Brien will compete for spots in the infield and outfield and add speed to the Panthers offense. Emily Sandor will look to share the catching duties and Anne Miller will compete for time at first base.
The Panthers will begin their season with a trip to Florida at the Cocoa Expo in Cocoa Beach, Fl. Upon their return, there is a full slate of games in the ICCAC and the Central Iowa Classic tournament in Des Moines.
