ECC conducts spring Phi Theta Kappa induction
The Alpha Iota Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Ellsworth Community College inducted 10 new members last week. Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges. To qualify for membership, students must be in a degree-seeking program with a cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Students who accepted membership were acknowledged at the spring induction ceremony on Feb. 19. Inductees, listed by hometown, are:
Alden – William Asmus, Liberal Arts; and Fadya Hamad, Biotechnology.
Eldora – Valerie Soesbe, Computer Applications.
Iowa Falls – Whitney Earnist, Accounting; Kaylara Hoadley, Medical Assisting; Kayla Kruse, Criminal Justice; and Shelby Miller, Liberal Arts.
Steamboat Rock – Pete Baldwin, Biotechnology.
Pecatonica, IL – Koryn Kasner, Apparel Merchandising.
Owosso, MI – Melanie Satchell, Equine Science.
In addition, the chapter installed two new officers for the year: President Jessica Beck (Elementary Education major) of Strawberry Point, and Vice President Shayna Franken (Medical Office Practitioner major) of Dumont.
