ECC hosts Health Occupations open house Mar. 22
The public is invited to learn more about health occupations degree programs and careers when Ellsworth Community College hosts a Health Occupations Open House on Thursday, March 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.; the event will be in McClure Hall on the ECC campus in Iowa Falls.
ECC offers a Practical Nursing program, an Associate Degree Nursing (RN) program, and a Medical Assisting program, as well as a Medical Office program.
“We look forward to meeting with community members, prospective students and their parents … anyone interested in health occupations careers in Iowa, and Ellsworth Community College in particular,” says Maggie Schwarck, Associate Dean of Health Occupations for ECC. “We will begin offering a partially online Associate Degree Nursing program in June, and we’ve had lots of people wanting more information about that, so our instructors will be available. In addition, we’re planning a significant facility renovation starting this spring, which will be a real benefit to our health occupations students. In terms of people’s needs and interests, and in terms of the college application and enrollment process, this is just an ideal time to bring people in for an event.”
Giveaway items and literature will be available during the event, as well as refreshments and tours. Faculty and staff will be on hand to meet participants and answer questions. In case of bad weather, the open house will be moved to Thursday, March 29 (check www.EllsworthCollege.com for announcements in case of bad weather).
