Apparel Merchandising students host ECC Runway Fashion Show
Ellsworth Community College’s Apparel Merchandising students hosted the first-ever ECC Runway Fashion Show this week, modeling outfits they purchased locally. In addition to the Apparel Merchandising students, models included some of their friends and fellow students. The show was open to the public, with special guests being a group of Family & Consumer Science students from Marshalltown High School.
The ECC Apparel Merchandising students included sophomore Katherine Maxwell of Moscow (IA), sophomore Koryn Kasner of Pecatonica (IL), Iowa Falls/Alden High School senior Mary Jane Halder, freshman Chan Jung Shin of South Korea, freshman Rachel Wolf of Cedar Falls, sophomore Dax Olson of Iowa Falls, and sophomore Erin Suttek of Baxter. Other models included Dana Anderson, Halie Edgington, Mia Elacqua, Caitlin Graham, Ashley Hammond, Brandon Holdgrafer, Thomas Kollbaum, Christopher Nash, Jillian Picht, Chase Sien, Lizzy Ann Welke, and Trent Williams. The fashion show was emceed by instructor Jane Kramer.
In addition to the style show, the MHS students received a campus tour and learned more about ECC’s Apparel Merchandising program. They also heard a presentation from Halder about her experience as a high school student earning dual credit for her involvement in ECC classes.
The event was sponsored by Find Your Fabulous and The Ugly Peanut in Iowa Falls, and by Orange Possum in Hampton.
