Lindsay Barnhart signs to play ECC softball
Lindsay Barnhart, an Iowa Falls-Alden High School pitcher/utility player, has signed a letter of intent to play softball at Ellsworth Community College. In her junior year, Barnhart had a .376 batting average and 20 stolen bases. She pitched 175 innings and had 170 strikeouts, with a 1.16 pitching ERA.
“I have been watching Lindsay (and Breanna Keane) serve as the battery of Iowa Falls High School for years, and I’m excited to now have this athletic duo at Ellsworth,” says ECC Head Softball Coach Heather Gant. “What’s great about Lindsay is that she can play other positions as well as hit. She isn’t restricted to just pitching and my plan is to utilize all of her assets. To me, it says a lot about Ellsworth when we can get local kids like Lindsay right out of Iowa Falls to stay around for another two years. My expectations for her are very high and I’m excited to see what she will bring to our Panther program.”
