Malcolm Canada signs with Tulane University
Ellsworth Community College point guard Malcolm Canada of Austin, TX, has signed with Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, to continue his playing career. He’s pictured here signing his Letter of Intent with ECC Head Basketball Coach Troy Muilenburg.
This season, Canada averaged 20.2 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game, all of which were Panther team highs. He also led the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference in assists, points scored, field goals, and free throws made, as well as ranking 8th in both rebounds and steals. Nationally, Canada ended the season ranked 5th in free throws made, 12th for points scored, and 17th for assists.
“Malcolm was pursued by several colleges from all over the country and it came down to Saint Louis and Tulane,” says Panther Head Coach Troy Muilenburg. “He visited both schools and Tulane was really the best fit for him. They’ll enjoy having him for the next two years, and we wish him all the best there.”
