Dr. Lisa Stock is new ECC Dean of Students & Academic Affairs
Ellsworth Community College Provost Dr. Nancy Muecke has announced that Dr. Lisa Stock will be the College’s new Dean of Students & Academic Affairs effective July 30. She replaces Dr. Kelly Faga, who has accepted a position at Wartburg College.
Dr. Stock has been the Dean of Learning Resources at the College of DuPage (COD) in Glen Ellyn, IL, for the past six years. She has more than 24 years of experience in higher education, including 12 years as a faculty member at Drake University in Des Moines and 12 years as an administrator at COD and Des Moines Area Community College. At COD, Dr. Stock provides leadership to a division that includes operations of comprehensive academic support, including the Online College, where she implemented a new course development process that resulted in the increase of courses available by more than 30 percent in one fiscal year; she increased enrollments in online courses by 44 percent during that same period. At COD she oversees a number of full-time and adjunct faculty, as well as a large number of staff and student workers.
Dr. Stock received her PhD in Education Leadership & Policy Studies in 2008 and worked as a reference librarian at Ellsworth Community College during the 1987-88 academic year, right after earning her master’s degree.
“We are very pleased to have someone of Lisa’s caliber join our team at Ellsworth,” says Dr. Muecke. “Her diverse experience base, excellent communication skills, high energy level and creativity will be definite assets as we continue to strive to better meet the needs of our students and help them get where they want to go!”
