ECC faculty sponsors volleyball fun night
The Ellsworth Community College faculty association (Iowa Valley Community College Education Association/IVCCEA) is hosting a college-community non-competitive volleyball fun night on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 8 pm at the Dale Howard Family Activity Center on the ECC campus. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until 100 slots are filled.
Event organizer Greg Hodak, ECC professor of economics, said the faculty is collaborating on several activities and events during this academic year to build new relationships and enhance existing ties between the College and the community.
“Our strategic plan initiatives and our learning objectives at ECC center around citizenship and community partnerships, among other things,” explains Hodak. “The faculty members are excited about initiating several opportunities during the year to build on these key areas. As a side benefit with the volleyball night, participants will also have some fun!”
The event will accommodate up to eight teams of 12 people, with each team comprised of six randomly selected College representatives and six community members. Each team will play 2-3 games and the evening will end with a surprise grand finale. Refreshments will be served after the games end, from 8 to 9 pm.
Registrations can be completed by signing up at the Dale Howard Center or by emailing Greg.Hodak@iavalley.edu; email registrations should include the participant’s name and phone number. There will be slots for 50 ECC faculty/staff/students and 50 community members; confirmations will be sent to all participants. There is no cost to participate.
