ECC students support Adopt-A-Highway project
Members of Ellsworth Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society and the ECC Conservation Club volunteered last week to pick up trash in the ditches on Highway 65 near the Iowa Falls airport. They are pictured here with the large pile of debris they collected, to be disposed of by the Iowa Department of Transportation as part of the Iowa Adopt-A-Highway program. About 1,274 groups participate in the Adopt-A-Highway program annually, keeping about 22 percent of the state’s roadways litter-free.
