ECC looking for Christmas Cabaret table decorators
Tickets are now on sale in the Ellsworth Community College Music Department for the annual ECC Christmas Cabaret. Due to the popularity of the music and the accompanying meal, the Cabaret will be held twice this year, on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 29 & 30, at 6:30 p.m. in the Dale Howard Family Activity Center. And this year, for the first time ever, it’s possible to get a free ticket …
“We are looking for people who would like to decorate a table in exchange for a free ticket,” explains Anne Sherve-Ose, ECC music instructor. “One thing everyone loves about this event is that the Dale Howard café will be decorated by community members and college staff, who generously provide the use of their finest china and holiday ornaments. This year, the decorators will receive a complimentary ticket to the event. It’s a great way to support the arts, to support Ellsworth, and to usher in the holiday season!”
The concert portion of the Cabaret will feature music by the ECC Concert Band, ECC Concert Choir, ECC Men’s Chorus, ECC Women’s Chorus, and selected soloists and small groups. Musical numbers will include traditional Christmas carols, new Christmas arrangements, a Bach fugue, and other holiday favorites.
The dinner menu is still being developed, but a delicious meal is guaranteed; the ECC Business Professionals of America and Phi Theta Kappa members will prepare and serve the meal.
Proceeds from the Cabaret go to the ECC Music Department, Phi Theta Kappa (ECC’s honor society) and BPA.
Tickets are $18 per person, or two for $35; ticket availability is limited. To purchase tickets and/or volunteer to decorate a table, e-mail Anne Sherve-Ose at Anne.Sherve-Ose@iavalley.edu or phone her at 641-648-8570. On campus, the Music Department is located in Kruse Main Hall, room 101.
