ECC Football players earn All-Conference honors
Eleven Ellsworth Community College football players were named this week by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) to Midwest All-Conference teams, and two additional players received honorable mentions for their efforts on the field this season.
First Team All-Conference honors went to freshman offensive lineman Ryan Johnson of St. Louis, MO; freshman defensive back Terrell Simmons of Norcross, GA; freshman linebacker Irving Steele of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; freshman wide receiver Ciavy Wiles of Loganville, GA; and sophomore tight end Amari Williams of Daytona Beach, FL (Williams received Honorable Mention as a freshman).
Second Team All-Conference honors went to freshman linebacker DeVante Averette of Melvindale, MI; freshman defensive back DeMarkus Carey of St. Louis, MO; freshman quarterback Jordan Doyle of Cedar Falls, IA; freshman running back Trey Gilbert of Winnfield, LA; sophomore offensive lineman Jordan Harrington of Washburn, IA (Harrington received Honorable Mention as a freshman); and freshman wide receiver J.T. Tolbert of Norcross, GA.
Honorable mentions were earned by freshman defensive back Corry O’Meally of Miami, FL, and sophomore offensive lineman Eric Pruitt of Clinton, IA.
