Counseling Services
General Information
Ellsworth Community College has a diverse population and adjusting to college life can sometimes be challenging to different people in different ways. Balancing classes, work, family, and other activities can be difficult. Maybe you’re away from home for the first time or maybe you’re returning to school after many years. You may be wondering if you’ve made the right choice of majors or careers.
ECC has two part-time contracted counselors, Tracie Self and Tuyet Noriega, available to help students find ways to successfully overcome those challenges and more. In counseling, you can talk over issues, find support for your efforts to obtain a degree, receive assistance in making an informed choice about academic options, and get in touch with the resources to solve concerns in your life.
Location
The counseling office is located in the upper level of the Gentle Student Center, Room 210. Occasionally alternate meeting locations are available on campus. Contact the counselor(s) for more information at 641-648-8510 (messages will be checked regularly, but perhaps not daily). Office hours are Mondays from 9 am to 3 pm and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
Scheduling
Counseling appointments typically last between 30-60 minutes. Students are not required to schedule an appointment prior to seeking counseling, but will only be guaranteed a time slot if an appointment has been previously scheduled. Students may schedule an appointment in person or over the phone.
