“It is an honor to be a member of the IVCCD Board of Directors and see the wonderful partnership develop between Brownells, Inc. and family, and the Iowa Valley Grinnell location,” says Paul Pohlson, IVCCD District VII Director. “This partnership is an excellent example of how a local company with employee needs, can partner with IVCCD to help develop and train people for jobs. It truly is a win-win for companies and individuals in a community.”
Special guests include Debi Durham, Director, Iowa Economic Development Authority; Dr. Brad Buck, Director, Iowa Department of Education; Frank Brownell, Chairman of the Board, Brownells, Inc.; and Pete Brownell, CEO, Brownells, Inc.
“Brownells, Inc. saw a need to develop a Gunsmith Technology Program, and the staff of Iowa Valley Grinnell took the concept and developed a program to train people for jobs,” adds Pohlson. “This program will provide trained people for jobs at Brownells, Inc. and other companies in the Midwest, and hopefully other parts of the country.”
The ceremony will take place on the Iowa Valley Grinnell campus at 123 6th Ave. West, Room 111. Opening remarks and ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm. Refreshments will be provided.
