Backyard Astronomy
Ever find yourself staring at the night sky and not sure exactly what you are seeing? This is the program for you. From constellations to the moon, join the naturalist' as they unlock the mysteries of the stars and the night sky. An added bonus we will get to view the Pleiades Meteor Shower. Please bring a flashlight and blanket or chair to sit on. There is no cost or pre-registration for this clear sky and weather permitting event. Co-sponsored with Calkins Nature Center.

Grant Writing 101
Want to know how to find and write competitive grants? As an increasing number of not-for-profit organizations scramble to find dollars to fund projects, agencies are steadily turning to grant writing to help meet their budgetary needs. This basic course on grant writing will help beginners understand the purpose of grants and will show them how to research and find local, state and federal grant opportunities. It will also give participants the skills to write competitive applications, with an emphasis on developing goals, objectives, timelines, budgets and evaluation plans.
