Occupational Spanish
Occupational Spanish provides communication skills for employers and employees. Iowa Valley’s Occupational Spanish training is an economical way to learn key phrases needed to perform basic functions safely and efficiently in a variety of occupations. No previous Spanish knowledge is necessary.

Occupational Spanish classes can be customized - If your business needs to train 6-20 employees to work more effectively with Spanish-speaking people, Iowa Valley can help. Classes can be scheduled at the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Conference Center in Marshalltown or at our other facilities in Marshalltown, Iowa Falls and Grinnell. Classes can also be held on-site at your place of business. Iowa Valley has conducted many off-campus classes at schools, banks, and dentists' offices. Course content is customized according to the needs identified by the students themselves, their supervisors, and/or their employers.
About the curriculum - The Occupational Spanish curriculum requires no previous Spanish knowledge or experience. The materials are designed for adult learners with short periods of study emphasizing oral practice/drills. Workplace language and phrases are emphasized with a learner-friendly text in generic Spanish dialect. Follow-up CDs are provided to help participants retain vocabulary and phrases learned in class.
With a staff of instructors trained to use the Command Spanish® curricula, Iowa Valley Continuing Education can offer job-specific training in a variety of vocational areas. Customized training is available for the occupations listed below.
