Occupational Spanish

Spanish for Mortgage Loan Officers

Intended Audience: Non-Spanish-speaking mortgage loan officers who may come into contact with Spanish-speaking customers and clientele.

Program Description: This is a comprehensive Spanish language program that provides immediate access to functional language skills for non-Spanish-speaking mortgage loan officers. The language component utilizes phonetic encoding to address the most important Spanish courtesy expressions, discuss pre-approval issues, explain type of mortgage and terms of loans, collect information about property, borrower's employment, assets, and liabilities, handle refinancing, and assist the buyer during closing. No prior knowledge of Spanish is necessary.

Content: A 69-page spiral bound manual and two accompanying CDs. Work-specific language sections include more than 300 phrases, commands and questions related to mortgage loans.

Objectives: Upon completion, participants will be able to use Spanish to greet customers/clients, discuss pre-approval issues, explain type of mortgage and terms of loans, collect information about property, borrower's employment, assets, and liabilities, handle refinancing, and assist the buyer during closing.
