Machine Quilting class coming in January
MARSHALLTOWN - Iowa Valley Continuing Education in Marshalltown is sponsoring the all-day “Machine Quilting” course taught by Charleen Richtsmeier, professional quilter, who has taught hundreds of classes throughout Iowa. Her knowledge, expertise, practical experience and great sense of humor will make this a very fun and enjoyable class for you.
In this class you will learn to machine quilt on your own sewing machine. Try your hand at grid, stitch-in-the-ditch, outline, stipple, meander, echo, machine guided, free motion, machine tying, machine appliqué, and novelty quilting techniques. In addition the class will include information about battings, stencils, marking tools and threads. Go home with a great set of handouts and having experienced things with your machine that you have never even thought of before. This course is for beginners through professionals.
The Marshalltown Machine Quilting class will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S Center St., room 614. Call 641-752-4645 to enroll in course CFN 1214-038, cost is $39 and the registration deadline is January 16. The supply list will be sent out to students after the registration deadline.
