Estate planning class offered in Marshalltown
MARSHALLTOWN - Thousands of dollars in taxes can often be avoided by good planning. The course “Estate Planning” will provide background information to assist participants to work more effectively with their professional and legal advisors. The topics will include: property ownership, wills, federal estate tax, Iowa inheritance tax, gifting, trusts, and gift taxes.
“Estate Planning” is beneficial to everyone, not just farmers. The class instructor Steve Kenkel has 30 years of law experience. The cost is $30 for a single or $40 for a couple to attend.
The class will be held at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S. Center St., Marshalltown, room 608. Two opportunities are available for this class. Courses will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, 1:30 - 4 pm, course number AGR 1749 007 or 6:30 – 9 pm, course number AGR 1749 008.
