Iowa Valley Continuing Education offers banjo lessons
MARSHALLTOWN – Have a banjo in the closet that hasn’t been out in awhile? How about finally taking some lessons? IVCE is offering a class that will provide individualized lessons for the five string banjo. Select the style that best fits. Learn either the old time style, claw hammer or the bluegrass style of finger picking. The instructor’s goal is to enable others to play or jam in a group setting or band. Each student will receive six individual lessons that are 45 minutes in length.
Instructor, Fred Buck has played banjo for over 30 years and has taught at other institutions for over 20 years, and he understands what it takes to help someone play an instrument. The time for each lesson must be scheduled through the instructor by calling 641-417-9400.
The cost is $120 and will be held at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S. Center St., Marshalltown, room 805. This course will be held on Tuesdays, Feb. 2 – March 12, 6:30 - 8:00 pm, course number FUN 3002 001.
