Creative Retirement to host "Successful Entrepreneurs"
MARSHALLTOWN –The definition of an entrepreneur includes “a risk-taking business person, somebody who initiates or finances new commercial enterprises.” But being a successful entrepreneur goes beyond definitions. Come have lunch and listen to area entrepreneurs tell their "stories" behind their success when the IVCE Creative Retirement hosts the luncheon, “Successful Entrepreneurs,” Friday, Feb. 22, from 11:30 am – 1 pm at IVCE, Dejardin Hall.
The panel of entrepreneurs will include: Joshua Weuve, 19, a partner in Cryogen Design, a company formed last year with Tyler Richard, 22, when they started helping school districts set up virtual reality systems and now look to extend prototypes to make 3-D printers that are easy to use for those without a heavy technical skills set; Roger Brown, Iowa River Brewing company, small craft brewery, specializing in small batch and custom beers, with an emphasis on refining beer recipes and brewing various styles of beers; and Pam Swarts, owner of The Perfect Setting, a downtown Marshalltown retail business featuring local artists and their work, an art gallery, gifts and custom framing, "where art comes alive." Learn how they built their businesses on an idea, ground up, to where they are today!

Cost of Creative Retirement membership is $10 and allows access to a variety of programs, events and trips through September 2013.
