Dyed Silk Scarf...Make It and Take It
MARSHALLTOWN – Enjoy a fun filled afternoon or evening learning how to dye a silk
scarf on February 20, 2013. The instructor will go through the process of how to color, manipulate, dry, soak, rinse, and dry again for a beautiful finished scarf.
The “Dyed Silk Scarf… Make It and Take It” classes will run on Wed. Feb. 20, from 1:00-4:30 pm with a course number of CFN 1500-003 or from 5:00-8:30 pm with a course number of CFN 1500-004. Cost of the class is $24 payable at registration time to IVCE. An additional cost of $13 payable to the instructor at class for one scarf and supplies. The class will be held at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S Center St, Marshalltown, IA, room 808.
Instructor, Debbie Poland,has beenquilting for 30 years and has made more than 40 Quilted Landscapes in the past 3 years. She has also ventured into dyeing of a variety of fabrics including silk and the fabulous silk scarfs and shawls.
Debbie will have additional scarf sizes available for an additional $12-15 each and shawls for $18-22 payable to the instructor at the class. All other supplies are provided and you should wear old clothes. You can also bring an outfit that you want to match your dyed scarf with. These make unique and fabulous gifts for any occasion.
Registrations are now being taken by calling IVCE at 641-752-4546 and the registration deadline is Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013.
