Dependent adult abuse for mandatory reporters
MARSHALLTOWN – Iowa Valley Continuing Education will be offering, “Dependent Adult Abuse for Mandatory Reporters,” on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. “The Dependent Adult Abuse for Mandatory Reporters,” class will help you be better prepared to identify and report suspected dependent adult abuse when you, in the course of your employment, examine, attend, counsel, or treat a dependent adult.
During this class, learn the meaning of dependent adult and be able to identify the types of dependent adult abuse; describe the physical, psychological, behavioral, environmental, and other relevant indicators of dependent adult abuse; and describe the assessment protocol utilized by DHS and you will be able to identify resources to assist dependent adults and families.
This is a state approved course and will also offer continuing education credit for nurses, social workers, nursing home administrators, dental professionals, and department heads in long term care. “The Dependent Adult Abuse for Mandatory Reporter,” class will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 6:30-9:00 pm at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S. Center St. room 608, Marshalltown. Cost of the class is $25.
