Beginning quilt piecing
MARSHALLTOWN – Iowa Valley Continuing Education is offering “Beginning Quilt Piecing,” on Wednesday, May 22 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. During this class you will learn the basics of piecing your quilt together. You will learn about cutting, pinning, sewing, and pressing a variety of different quilt shapes. You will learn quick tips and tricks to piece together the common Nine Patch and the Spinning Star block patterns. This class is designed for the beginning quilter as well as an experienced quilter. You are sure to learn new tips and tricks in your quilting.
Bring your sewing machine, needles, thread, owner’s manual, extension cords, and a desire to learn about quilting. Your instructor is Val Bonk who is an experienced quilter and seamstress. The supply list will be sent to you after receiving your registration. Class will be held at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S Center St, Marshalltown, room 614.
