Edible wild food
IOWA FALLS – Come learn how to utilize edible wild plants for food! Iowa Valley Continuing Education is offering Edible Wild Food on Thursday, June 12.
This course covers how to identify plants, how to properly harvest them and cooking with these local foods. Students gain a hands-on knowledge of wild edible plants that can be incorporated into everyday life! We will go for a walk at Mayne's Grove Park, north of Iowa Falls, to gather wild foods, then join up at Koenigs' Acres to see how to prepare those wild goodies to better your health and supplement your food budget. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors with family and friends and learn about nature as well as free food sources locally. There will be a $5 supply fee paid to the instructor at class and a $5 fee at the time of registration.
