All about Kale
GRINNELL – Kale has become one of the trendier vegetables in recent years, seeming to pop up in more and more places every week. While interest is high in this nutritious, easy to grow, and versatile green, many people are at a loss with what to do with it. Iowa Valley Continuing Education is offering All About Kale on Tuesday, June 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
During this cooking demonstration and class, you will discover some simple and delicious techniques for preparing kale, including sautéing, kale chips, pesto, and smoothies, while also learning more about kale and how it is grown. Students should expect to participate in the process and enjoy their creations afterward during a group supper. Join instructor and local grower Jordan Scheibel in discovering all that kale has to offer. For those interested in taking their knowledge home to their own kitchens immediately, locally grown kale will be available for purchase after class.
The class will take place at Iowa Valley Grinnell, 123 6th Ave West, Grinnell in room 145.
