OSHA 10 Hour Training
MARSHALLTOWN – A 10 hour OSHA general industry class is being offered through Iowa Valley Continuing Education on Thursday, July 24 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Friday, July 25 from 8:00 to 11:00 am in Marshalltown in the Business and Technology Center, room 205. The course is for hourly workers, emphasizing hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention. You will learn what is required to maintain compliance and minimize potential for OSHA citation. Topics include: housekeeping, machine guarding, respiratory protection, welding and cutting, electrical, chemical handling and storage, written plan and training requirements. It also outlines the steps of an OSHA inspection, identifies your rights as an employer or employee, and reviews the penalty structure associated with citations. The class is taught by Ken Strosahl, OSHA certified instructor.
