Dental Radiography Update 2014
MARSHALLTOWN – The Dental Radiography Update 2014 will be offered on Wednesday, August 20 from 1:00-3:00 pm and from 6:00-8:00 pm at Iowa Valley Continuing Education in Marshalltown. You can pick which class time works best for you. This class is for dental assistants and hygienists who are certified to take dental x-rays in Iowa. During this 2 hour class you will review the advantages and disadvantages of film and digital radiography, identify the differences between direct and indirect digital radiography, discuss the best practices for patient and operator radiation safety and protection, identify proper protocol for handling contaminated film packets and imaging sensors, review common errors that occur when taking intraoral and extraoral radiographs, discuss the role of CBCT in dentistry, and review dental radiographic anatomy.
The class is approved for 2 hours of continuing education through the Iowa Dental Board.
Instructor, Elaine Peterson, BA, DANB Certified, Iowa Registered Assistant, Expanded Function Dental Assistant and Dental Assistant Instructor at MCC will be the instructor of the Dental Radiography Update course. The class will take place at Iowa Valley Continuing Education, 3702 S Center St, Marshalltown, room 546.
