Career Pipe Welding
MARSHALLTOWN – This 32 week welding course will prepare you for a career in pipe welding with GTAW. Topics include safety; techniques such as freehand, and finger stall; pipe fitting techniques including preparation, beveling, hot weld, pipe purging, hot welding, and heavy wall welding. The instructor is a certified welder. Students will have the opportunity to become certified! Basic knowledge of welding processes is needed before taking this course. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of welders is expected to grow 15 percent from 2010 to 2020. Properly skilled welders with up-to-date training should have the best job prospects.
Career Pipe Welding, course IND 2490 002, will be offered on Tuesdays, September 3 through May 6, from 5 - 8 pm at the Business and Technology Center Welding Lab on the Marshalltown Community College Campus, 3700 S.
