Swing Dancing: Introduction to East Coast
GRINNELL – Are you looking for a chance to learn a new dance or improve on the dancing skills you already have? Iowa Valley Continuing Education has a great opportunity to participate in Swing Dancing: Intro to East Coast.
East Coast swing is a simple, easy to learn 6-count partner dance useful for practically any social dance situation including weddings, parties and more. This class will teach you the basic step, simple turns, and a few easy, but flashy moves to get you around the dance floor in no time. No partner or previous experience necessary.
Swing Dancing: Intro to East Coast, course number REC 1053 005will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Postels Communinity Health Park, 807 Broad Street in Grinnell. Cost of the class is $15.
Instructor Molly Rideout has taught many types of swing dancing for four years. She's taught at Grinnell College, the Grinnell Area Arts Council, Iowa Valley Continuing Education as well as private lessons. She teaches a variety of swing styles including Lindy Hop, East Coast, and solo, partner, and twenties Charleston.
