Creative Retirement will open their winter term with its Winter Luncheon, on Thursday, Dec. 11. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Iowa Valley Continuing Education’s Dejardin Hall, Room 808, 3702 S. Center St., Marshalltown, with the program at noon.
Iowa Valley Continuing Education will offer the course Driving Unimpaired (DUI) in Spanish in December. The course is required for anyone convicted of driving under the influence, and is authorized by the state of Iowa.
Thirteen Marshall County students were honored for their winning poster designs during a celebration on Nov. 12 held at Iowa Valley Continuing Education. Austin Cox, a fourth grader at Green Mountain-Garwin Elementary, was the grand prizewinner of a $100 Savings Bond from the Marshall County Landfill. Austin’s poster was chosen as the cover of the 2009 calendar.

The Iowa Valley Continuing Education Tuition Grant Program offers financial assistance for interested individuals with financial need. Grants are awarded for programs of a vocational nature, career enhancement, or GED testing, through Iowa Valley Continuing Education.
