Read on to learn why Marshalltown Community College is right for you- if only for a course or two.

Accomodating
We offer guidance for those attending college for the first time, returning to college after an absence, or wanting to find a new or different career ... to provide the necessary resources to manage school, work, family, and other life roles.

Convenient Schedule Options
We know life is demanding of your time"—"you may be juggling one or more jobs, possibly even working evening and weekend hours, meeting family obligations, and just trying to keep up with it all. MCC has convenient day, evening classes, and online classes available to work with your schedule. Our iLearn with iPod® initiative offers even more options.

Affordable
Whatever your financial situation, we can help you get an education that will enhance the rest of your life. In general, tuition and fees for attending a community college are lower than the cost of attending a state university or private institution- by state law.

Scholarships
You may qualify for over 150 scholarships that are available for MCC students. To learn more about available scholarships, requirements, and how to apply, visit the MCC Foundation for complete details.

At MCC, you will never be overwhelmed in a huge class of hundreds of students or a large lecture hall that a big university might have. As you know, a friendly, encouraging classroom environment is important to your learning success and enjoyment. Most MCC classes average only 20 to 30 students, or less, increasing the instructor's opportunity to help students on a one-on-one basis. You truly counts as an individual at MCC.

Cool Faculty
At MCC, all of our faculty are experts in their particular field of study. If you love Biology, you will take Biology with a faculty member who also loves Biology-- who also is a fully qualified community college instructor, not a graduate student working on his own projects. Same for Physics, Math, even Business and Computer Science.

All our faculty do what they teach! How can you beat that?

Associate Degree
An Associate Degree is a great way for you to earn transferable credits to continue your education and your career goals, while working at a paying job. A variety of MCC degree programs allows students to explore their career options, accelerate their studies so they can get into the workplace quickly, and learn from extraordinary educators. Statistically, employees who have an Associates Degree earn 40% more than those who have only a high school diploma.

Regent's University Transfer
MCC offers students numerous transfer options to one of Iowa's three Regent institutions, as well as a variety of private colleges. You can even return to MCC after you've entered the workforce for a brush-up course or for additional credentials through Iowa Valley Continuing Education.
Check out our Transfer Guide to see how easy it is to transfer.

Career Opportunties
MCC offers career-training programs that can be completed in as little as four months to two years. MCC knows that "one size fits all" does not apply to individuals in pursuit of learning and preparing for the real world workforce. We have a choice of 72 degree and certificate programs, from courses in our nursing program, to high tech, to business, and even with our local Emerson/Fisher Controls program. You can even take our 75- hour nurse-aide course on the non-credit side to gain employment, then come back for your two-year degree.

Our Career & Employment Center offers you career counseling, help with resume writing, interviewing and career search strategies, and on-campus recruiting, as well as huge career and job fairs throughout the year.

Athletics:
Even part-time students get to take part in our athletic events as spectators! All MCC students get into the games and events for FREE. Check out our Athletic Programs.

Activities:
MCC students can join one of several on-campus student clubs and make friends with those who share their similar interests . . . from government-oriented clubs, to the individual's field of study, to social forums. It's fun to get involved and adds to the total college experience! Check out our Student Activities Programs.

MCC Career Academies and other Opportunities for High School Students!
Maybe you have children or relative who are nearing college? MCC offers a wide variety of courses and opportunities for them to take college courses while still in high school. Check out our High School/High Priority website for more detailed information.
