Accounting
Real
Numbers
Every
business values the person who keeps track of the finances. Key business
decisions often are made after reviewing the bottom line of financial profit
and loss statements, balance sheets, cost studies and tax reports. If those
terms are “music” to your ears, accounting can give you the solid foundation to
prepare for a job as an entry-level accountant or auditor in government,
industry or public accounting firm.
Accountants
continue to be in demand due to growth in the field and an ongoing need to
replace retiring accountants. Nationally, accounting is one of the top five
occupations in total employment, and it is projected to stay that way!
Whether
you are an accounting or business major, or you are just trying to gain a
better understanding of business and personal financial information, the MCC
Accounting Program will help develop your knowledge of financial and managerial
accounting topics.
Students
will be exposed to the world of accounting through lectures, class discussions,
demonstrations, and group activities. By actively participating in these
activities, students will discover how financial information fits together to
create a picture that management must have for making key decisions.
