Why do you want to go to college?  For many students, the goal is to prepare for a career in a specific field.  For others, the goal is to explore a variety of careers and decide which path to follow.  Still others want to learn new skills that will enable them to change careers, qualify for promotions, or earn a higher salary.  No matter what your goals may be, MCC can help you find Real Direction and Real Success!

Use the links at left to obtain specific information about the indicated area, or the general links below to begin your stay at MCC.

If you excel in the arts and sciences, check out these MCC’s degree programs: accounting, broadcast technology, business administration, child development, computer science, criminal justice, Fisher Controls process management technology, hospitality management, liberal arts, and marketing.

In terms of vocational-technical careers, MCC offers training in many popular fields, including computer networking, carpentry, computer applications, construction technology, dental assisting, industrial maintenance, machine trades, mechanical design/CAD technology, nursing, office administration, sustainable & entrepreneurial agriculture, tool & die, and virtual reality technology.

Start your college education by taking your first two years at MCC and transferring on to the college or university of your choice. Or choose one of MCC's career programs and get started on your career in as soon as eleven months. Choose from over 60 transfer degrees or enroll in one of the thirty career programs.

Want to transfer your community college credits to a four-year college or university?  You might be surprised to learn that most MCC students graduate with our transferable Associate in Arts degree.  This liberal arts degree program includes a variety of general education courses that can be applied toward any of the career programs listed above or transferred to four-year schools if you decide to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

We're accredited which means the classes you take at MCC will transfer just about anywhere. Take your credits and transfer to one of the many state and private colleges or universities, or stay right here in Marshalltown and finish your bachelor's degree at Buena Vista University's Marshalltown Center. And when you've finished your degree, enjoy lifelong learning opportunities through Iowa Valley Continuing Education.

Another bonus offered at MCC is our Career & Employment Center.  The Career Center staff are available to help you evaluate career options, conduct job searches, write a resume, and much more.  And they conduct an annual Job Fair that puts you in touch with employers and graduate school representatives from all over the state!
