Program Summary
There are two major emphases in this program: Radio and Television and Corporate Media. Students interested in the Radio and Television emphasis will get training and experience in newscasting, weathercasting and sportscasting. They will write, produce, direct and edit programming for radio and for television using Marshalltown Educational Television (MET12) cable channel.
Students interested in Corporate Media will receive training in creating audio-visual presentations and understanding emerging multi-media technologies. Students will study technologies including CD-ROM, interactive video, computer animation, 3D modeling, satellite video conferencing, desktop video and web page design.
MCC is equipped with a TV studio on campus, complete with state-of-art control room with satellite downlink equipment, cable television origination equipment, video duplication, closed circuit systems, and editing equipment.

Broadcasting Scholarships

Iowa Broadcasters Association – Student enrolled in the Broadcast Technology program. Four $1000 scholarships are available each year. Request special application from the Financial Aid Office.

KFJB/KXIA Broadcast Journalism – Students interested in radio broadcasting are encouraged to apply. Request special application form from the Financial Aid office.
