‘Pink Heals Tour’ makes a special stop at MCC
It’s not every day you witness a moment as remarkable as what was displayed just outside the Marshalltown Community College Admissions Office Thursday afternoon. The ‘Pink Heals Tour’ made a special stop yesterday to honor MCC employee, Cindy Urhammer-Weuve, a breast cancer survivor of 10 years.
Members of the support group, who arrived in two pink fire trucks and a pink tour bus, greeted Cindy with a welcoming smile, a bouquet of flowers and the support and recognition that every survivor deserves. Several MCC employees were there in support as well.
The ‘Pink Heals Tour’ is a an organization that began in 2007 to help people battling cancer with a focus on women and what they mean to us in our daily lives. The group travels across the country in pink fire trucks and pink police cars to spread the “Cares Enough to Wear Pink” message. You can find out more information at www.pinkfiretrucks.org.
