MCC Construction Technology program lands housing project for 2014-15
Students in the Marshalltown Community College Construction Technology program will build a residential home for Dennis and Heidi Drager of Marshalltown this coming year. This will be the 17th year for student-built projects in the community.
The project will consist of a 3,200 sq. ft., 2-story barn-style house. Students will build the house during the August 2014 to May 2015 school year, supervised by instructor Russell Yarrow. The project is set to be completed on May 8, 2015.
MCC students finished building the program’s 14th residential home this past May. Through these annual construction program projects, students are given the opportunity to work on real-life housing projects while at the same time, helping a family achieve their goals.
The College is always looking for more students to join its strong Construction program. For more information on how to enroll in MCC’s Construction Technology program, contact the MCC Admissions Office at 641-752-7106.
