MCC still seeks two YFU host families
Marshalltown Community College will host three new Youth for Understanding (YFU) international exchange students for the coming academic year. Two of the YFU students remain in need of host families: Kennedy, 18, a young man from Ghana, and Sarah-Maria, 18, a young woman from Belgium. Both students will attend MCC during the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters.
Host families of all shapes and sizes are welcome to host YFU students. All that’s required is the ability and desire to share your home and open your heart. YFU exchange students bring their own spending money and have health insurance. Families also receive a $200 a month reimbursement to assist in living expenses. YFU students come prepared to follow family rules and want to become an active part of the community. Each student is supported by the YFU Campus Coordinator at Marshalltown Community College.
YFU students and their families trust Youth For Understanding because of its reputation for quality, high safety standards, and a strong support network. As one of the world’s oldest and largest exchange organizations, YFU has provided study abroad opportunities to over 250,000 students for more than 60 years.
