IVCCD’s LPN programs ranked #1 in Iowa 2018 badgeThe Practical Nursing diploma programs at Marshalltown Community College and Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls continue to draw accolades based on student successes. Recently ranked the #2 Top Accredited LPN Program in Iowa for 2018 by, the programs have also been named the #1 Iowa LPN Program for 2018 by

The rankings, released in February, are based on a methodology that includes analysis of NCLEX-PN exam passage rates for the past five years, and number of students taking the NCLEX-PN exam. According to the website, NCLEX-PN exam pass rates “are one of the best ways to determine how well a school is preparing their students for a career in practical nursing, and what is why we have chosen to rank them in this manner.”

“Congratulations to your entire team on this outstanding accomplishment!” said Carly Jacobs, Outreach Coordinator.

IVCCD Chancellor Dr. Chris Duree said the nursing programs at Marshalltown and Ellsworth have long been known for their quality instruction and student support. “The fact that these recognitions keep coming is a testimony to the dedication of our nursing faculty, administrators and support staff. Our programs are large enough to attract top instructors, and small enough to ensure that each student receives the attention and support that he or she needs to succeed.”

Duree adds, “We also believe that recent Health Occupations facility upgrades on both campuses ensure that our students receive the best possible education with the same kinds of tools and technologies that they’ll find when they graduate and enter the workforce.”
