Orpheum hosts Crystal City on Nov. 3
Tuesday / October 23, 2018
The Orpheum Theater Center hosts a concert by Crystal City on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 7 to 9 pm in Dejardin Hall at the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Center. The venue is located at 3702 S. Center St. in Marshalltown, on the southwest corner of the Iowa Valley/MCC campus.
Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased in advance by calling 641-844-5920; tickets will also be sold at the door.
Recommended by a local Crystal City fan, the group is led by Dave Helmer and Sam Drella. Helmer is a Midwestern singer/songwriter from central Iowa with blue collar roots. The group’s songs are very relatable, touching on themes of love and loss, being good to one another, and celebrating life.
Crystal City’s most recent release, “Bartenderly,” is an album born from life in the bar scene. From the joy of a night out with friends or loved ones to a cold one keeping someone company during tough times, this is truly “the working person’s watering hole album.”
The Crystal City performance is partially underwritten by a grant from the Martha-Ellen Tye Foundation.
The IVCCD Orpheum Theater Center is owned and operated by Iowa Valley Community College District and demonstrates IVCCD’s vitality and commitment to partnering, educating and building our communities.
