Open letter to the voters of Iowa Valley Community College District
Wednesday / April 3, 2019
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Iowa Valley Community College District I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support in the most recent bond referendum. A special thank you to those who were supportive. We would also say thank you as well to those who, for their own reasons, were not. I would ask that those of you who were supportive continue to be so and to articulate to our Board and to our staff the needs you continue to see in our district.
To those of you who saw fit not to approve this bond issue, again I want to thank you for your interest in Iowa Valley. I would ask that you also articulate to our staff and to our Board the needs you see in your communities that can and should be addressed by Iowa Valley Community College District.
This district is positioned for continued economic vitality of the various constituencies within our district. We are committed to continue to assist in workforce development and training as well as providing quality education for those who matriculate to Marshalltown Community College, Ellsworth Community College, the Grinnell center and our other centers where we offer continuing education and programming.
It is the intention of our Board to continue on a path of growth. Once again, thanks to each and every one of you who voted regardless of your position. I would urge you to continue the open dialogue that we have commenced.
Larry Johnson, IVCCD Board Chair
