Coach Ashley Clark is in her second year as Head Volleyball Coach for Ellsworth Community College and her first year as Assistant Director of Residence. Although the 2015 season ended in the first round of playoffs with an overall record of 12-26, sophomore Mary Goergen received Region XI-A All-Tournament Team honors as well as Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades. Goergen also went on to play at Mount Mercy University; sophomore April Jones is also continuing her playing career at Waldorf University. During the 2015 season ECC volleyball had two players named to the 1st Team All-Regional Academic Team and three players received 2nd team All-Region Academic Team. Coach Clark has been active in sports most of her life, playing soccer, softball, basketball, track and field, and volleyball. She didn’t begin playing volleyball until the summer before her freshman year of high school, but she walked on to California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) with an academic scholarship and then earned an athletic scholarship in for her sophomore year. While at CSUDH, Clark red-shirted her freshman year. During her sophomore year she was 4th on the team for kills (183), 3rd in total attacks (620), recorded two double-doubles, had seven games with 10-plus kills, and was named a CSUDH Presidential Scholar. Her junior year she was second on the team in kills (180), third in digs (181), posted five double-digit kill games, posted three double-doubles (kills and digs), was named to the CCAA All-Academic Team, and was a CSUDH Presidential Scholar. During Clark’s final year at CSUDH she was the only player to appear and start in all 29 matches and she led the team in overall kills (240), was 2nd in kills per game (2.53), tallied five double-doubles, and was named to the CCAA All-Academic Team.

Coach Clark earned her bachelor’s degree from CSUDH in Liberal Studies with an option in Mathematics in 2010.  She coached club teams part-time and then took the head volleyball coaching job at LA Harbor College in 2013, where she coached until 2015. While at Harbor, she coached two Second-Team All Conference players and began pursuing a master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine, which she completed in August 2015. In June and July of 2015, Coach Clark finished her club season at Southern California Volleyball Club (SCVC) earning two medals. Her 15 and under girls team won a gold medal at AAU Championships in Orlando, FL, while her 13 and under boys team finished with a Bronze medal at Junior Olympics in Columbus, OH.

Coach Clark was born in Torrance, CA. Her parents are Jim and Cindy Clark, and she has four siblings. She has lived in Hawthorne, CA, most of her life.
